REDDI KINGDOMS
- Prince juna or Juna Khan, alias Ulugh Khan, the son of Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlak, the founder of the Tughlak dynasty, conquered Warangal in 1323.
- He renamed it Sultanpur and annexed the Kakatiya kingdom to the Delhi Sultanate.
- He captured other South Indian towns including Rajahmundry and Madurai.
- Ulugh Khan ascended the throne of Delhi in 1325 and assumed the title of Muhammad-bin Tughlak (1325-1351).
- The fall of the Kakatiya empire resulted in anarchy. The tyranny of the Muslim rule under Muhammad-bin tuglak led to the various Hindu Nayakas of the Kakatiyas to close their ranks and thrown off the Muslim yoke.
- The leader of the liberation movement was Prolaya Nayaka of the Musunuri family.
- He was supported by 76 Nayakas.
- These Nayakas belonged to different castes like the Kamas, Velamas and Reddis.
- They were able to free Andra from Muslim occupation within fifteen years and asserted their independence in their respective regions.

- The latter fled to Rajahmundry and took refuge in the court of his brother-in-law Kataya Vema.
