• The Rayala Elephant Reserve, situated in Andhra Pradesh, is a testament to the dedicated conservation and protection efforts aimed at preserving the elephant population in the region. This reserve was established to provide a secure sanctuary for elephants that were displaced due to changing environmental conditions. It has also become a crucial corridor connecting the elephant habitats in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Encompassing an expansive area of 766 sq. km, the sanctuary not only ensures the well-being of elephants but also supports a diverse range of flora and fauna

• Nagarajunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR) is located in the Nallamala hill ranges (offshoot of the Eastern Ghats) of Andhra Pradesh.
• It attained the status of a Tiger Reserve in 1983. The total area of the reserve including core and buffer is 3727.82 Square Kilo meters  and it is India’s largest Tiger Reserve.
• NSTR spreads across Prakasam, Nandyal and Palnadu Districts of Andhra Pradesh..
• The tiger reserves divided into 4 divisions- Markapur, Atmakur, Nandyal and Giddalur
• Two wildlife Sanctuaries, namely Rajiv Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and Gundla Brahmeswaram Wildlife Sanctuary (GBM) constitute the Tiger Reserve.
• The river Krishna traverses through this Tiger Reserve for a linear distance of around 270 Kilo meters.

Conservation Bio diversity programmes By A.P government

52. Bio diversity board: A.P bio diversity board was setup in :: 2006 under Section 22(1) of the Biological diversity Act, 2002 as notified in the A.P Gazette.

53. The 1st Bio diversity park was established by ::Vishakhapatnam dolphin conservation society in Vishakhapatnam. As a part of Ex-conservation programme.
