Historical background of Power sector in A.P

  1. A private firm supplied electricity by producing with the help of a diesel machine for the first time in {{1929}} in coastal area.
  1. The turbo generators with 1,500 KW production capacities at Vijayawada, two more with 750 and 1500 KW capacity in Visakhapatnam were strated in 1938-39. Electricity was supplied to the near by places, towns, miles and Andhra Cement factory. From these two corporations.

  2. 5,000 KW capacity thermal power station was established in Nellore in 1950 and most part of its electricity being supplied to Mica mines of that district.
